Weekly Training: May 8 – 14

Another week down, another pretty good week. I was pretty proud of how this week went considering we were really busy traveling again.

Here’s how it went dooooown:

Monday: 8 easy miles. My watch was dead so I don’t know the pace. Just did my Mission Estates loop in ol Odessa, TX.

Tuesday: 10.3 miles total. I ACTUALLY DID A WORKOUT. I was pretty proud of myself for just getting out there and running fast (ish). I have STRUGGLED with getting workouts in this round of training so anytime I do it’s a big success no matter how it actually goes. I did 40 mins of 4min fast, 1 min slow, 2 min fast, 1 min slow, repeated. I got in about 5.8 miles. I don’t know the exact paces, but I felt like it was a solid effort. I did it in the Texas heat and by the end I was SPENT!

Wednesday: 2.5 quick miles before catching a plane to Sacramento, Californa!

Thursday: 9 miles @ 7:35 pace. Had a 5:30 am wake up call by miss Corra May. I kept trying to get her back to sleep but when 7:00 rolled around I gave up and went running. Our hotel was right next to the American River that had a paved trail beside it. Made for some good running!

Friday: 7 miles total. I DID ANOTHER WORKOUT. look at me go. Warmed up a mile. Did 5 miles averaging 6:28 pace (6:35, 6:35, 6:23, 6:26, 6:20) then cooled down a mile. I was hoping to go a little faster (aka all miles under 6:30) but those first 2 miles I just COULDN’T get my legs to move. oh well. It was another workout, so another victory!

Saturday: OFF. went to bed Friday night with a sore throat. Woke up Saturday with a sore throat. I had a long day of wrangling kids at a track meet/driving all the way back to Utah so I decided to just take it off.

Sunday: OFF. Happy Mother’s Day!

Here is the video Nate & Ames made for me (& Corra in spirit 😉 ):

Total Mileage: 36.8 Miles
